Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This is a lovely restaurant up a narrow side street in Malfa. It comprises of a very large outdoor area with some tables completely in the open and others under a covered area. There are many plants and nicely decorated columns making for a nice ambience. Adding to the ambience is an accordionist who plays a mixture of contemporary and Italian music. We had great fun trying to guess the names of the tunes. The menu is good, offering a range of pasta, meat and fish dishes as well as pizzas. The Anti Pasta dish of Arinchi was lovely. We enjoyed our choices of Breaded Chicken and Swordfish. The homemade Tiramasu was delicious. We were served superbly by Alessandro who served all the other tables virtually on his own. At the end of our enjoyable dinner we were treated to a complementary glass of Malvasia wine. Note that you have to pay at the bar. Recommend."
"Ate both a lunch and a dinner here while staying on Salina, and enjoyed both meals so much...I only got one photo of the food. Had caper salad both meals, pizza, Pasta al Norma, and Spaghetti alla Vongole. All were excellent, well prepared and presented. Caper salad is the BOMB! Get it! Service was attentive, and the covered outdoor patio was perfect. In the evening a gentleman played the accordian--Italian classics and popular American tunes. Charming."
"I was trying to find somewhere for dinner for our first night in Malfa and stumbled across this lovely restaurant. We walked over an hour after opening and we were seated immediately. It had been raining earlier so everyone was seated in the covered area, but I'm sure the rest of the patio is great on days with better weather. The patrons seemed like a general mix of tourists and locals as the night went on. Let's get to the food, it was amazing and very reasonably priced. We took a gamble and decided to treat ourselves a bit (hence our tab probably higher than most others), but everything we ordered was sooo delicious. The marinated anchovies, the octopus, the seafood pasta, the sea bass (special of the night), and tiramisu. We definitely left there happy and full. We haven't left yet and may be going back before we do! Definitely would recommend! (Again, the price per person I listed was because we ordered a lot, you could easily dine two people for well under 50€)"
"This place was everything we were looking for in Malfa. The menu had lots of options and for a great price, a little less than what we were seeing at other restaurants. We got to Clem linguine (which was amazing and I would recommend), the rigatoni, the eolian salad (also recommend) and the veggie pizza. The service was very good and they even gave us limoncello at the very end. A live musician also came in halfway and was playing which was special."
"Its a simple casual dining place. I do not understand what is the bad review all about, i know i been there twice, Alessandro could even remember us! He was very friendly very nice!. We had vongole twice on different occassions n it was fantastic! Best vongole i had ever eaten! It was just tasty, delicious. The must order main would be the GRILLED KING PRAWN.. i can eat the prawns n vongole everyday n not get sick of it.. i miss their tasty pasta n prawns when i leave the place."
"Lovely restaurant, nice atmosphere (especially when live music is on). Main courses (pasta in particular) are delicious. Some of the side dishes not so good - green salad was just iceberg lettuce for example."
"This place looks very old fashioned but don’t let that be deceiving. they are serving food at a very high level, perhaps amongst the best on the island. The food is classical Italian, seafood focus with excellent ingredients. The pastas are cooked to perfection, the stuffed grilled squid was wonderful and the grilled fish was well judged - sea bass not to be missed. The food is incredibly satisfying and very reasonable price for the quality."
"It’s a real pity I didn’t have another stomach to savour more of what this lovely restaurant had to offer! Delicious food, great service (v romantic), and relaxing al fresco atmosphere. While the fish & pasta were great, the ultimate gem was the local antipasti of local vegetables. Never have I had such fresh, fragrant, flavourful vegetables in all of Italia. Their homegrown Malvasia delle Lipari is sublime too. Top it all off, they had a talented pianist serenade us with his melodic accordion. Told myself I’ll leave after the next song, ended up staying for several hours just enjoying his music. It might not be 1-star Michelin like Signum, but I’ll definitely be here when I’m back in Malfa"
